Another Mojo Monday - This time ON TIME

After missing out on last weeks Mojo Monday just by a little over an hour, I was determined not to miss out this week.  Actually, I am a little shocked that I was able to not only create a card in one evening, I was also able to get a photo shot and edited. Yippee!

Do you notice some new papers?  The floral and striped papers, plus the super cute My Stickease and  Irresistables Die Cuts  are from our upcoming National Scrapbooking Month special called Miracle. I can't wait to pick up another package as I only have very small scraps left (I have another project I'll be showing off very soon).  Oooh, I think I'm in love!

Life is feeling a bit chaotic right now.  Classes (to finish up my BS in Computer Science) just started back up and I'm a little scared...this teacher seems intense.  On top of that I am working on two special projects with CTMH (love it!) and we are fast approaching our May 1st All Day Crop (sa...weet, can hardly wait). Those close to my have commented that I thrive under pressure, it is true as it makes me stay focused and I feel like I am accomplishing a TON.

Have a marvelous day all!

What are you working on?

Close To My Heart's Convention is quickly approaching. Corporate hosts a contest and this years is called "Magic Moments." Our task is to complete five 2 page 12 x 12 layouts highlighting our everyday magic moments. I have gone back and forth on if I would complete one or not, we only have until July 1st to have it completed and postmarked. Our company is filled with uber talented ladies and the competition at last Convention was fierce (as in the artist created spectacular "out of the box" albums). Well, as of last week, I WAS NOT going to be stressing myself to complete the album. And then my dear Nona (who placed in the top ten last time) encouraged me again just to do a page or two at the very least. After all it is a great topic and just to think of having a completed album never mind trying to compete. So, now I have sat here over the last weekend working away during spare moments. I have my color combo selected and four of the page sets cut and prepared for pictures, embellishments and journaling. Wish me luck! I'll be sure to post as soon as the cut off date for our entries arrives (if I complete the album, lol).

P.S. The last time I almost didn't complete a contest but ended up doing it at the last minute, I placed in the top ten and here is that layout!

My Big News...

It has been killing me not to share this news. Now that we are just a couple days away from the new release, I figure that it is safe to share. Way back in December, I was asked if I would submit art for the upcoming Close To My Heart Summer Idea Book. Did they really think I'd say NO?! Just a few days after they sent me a brand new kit and I got to work. The art needed to be return in a matter of only 7 days, which was a bit of a challenge with a baby just over a month old. Once turning in the pages, you have no idea if you will actually make it into the idea book because a group of Consultants are all asked to complete artwork for the same paper packet. Needless to say, I was thrilled to open the pages of the Summer 2008 Idea Book and see my picture, story and pages of Conner!

Magic Moments Now Available

I love this special National Scrapbooking Celebration kit created by CTMH. View my website at www.CreatewithChristine.com/ to find out how to get your very own set. Since I received my packet, I have completed more pages than I have in months. I love the simplicity of the level one pages and the "ooh la la" of stickease, ribbon and brads. Level 1 kits were not my favorite, however I am now a proud convert!

And of course we wouldn't want to leave the card makers out, so I decided to try something a little different. Our Level 1 kits lend themselves well to creating beautiful, uber simple cards. I created all five of these cards from just one of the "Be Mine" pages. I hope this inspires you to think outside of the box, or the kit in the case!

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Waiting is not something I am very good at! Lately I have had a lot of waiting in my life. This layout represents just one thing I am anxiously waiting on. Way back in the beginning of February, I submitted my application to teach at Close To My Heart's Convention. I am waiting to hear if I was accepted and thankfully, that waiting should be drawing to an end. On top of that I am waiting to hear back on some other exciting news that I can't quite share yet and that makes the waiting even harder.

So, what are you waiting for at the time if your life?

New: Video Tutorial (Simple Beauty)

After an entire afternoon of fighting with my computer and new camera, I was able to achieve my goal of creating my first ever online video tutorial creating the card shown above. I have been contemplating this for over a year and now that I have the first one done, I can't wait to do another. If there are any topics or techniques that you'd like covered, leave me a comment and I'll see what I can do. It isn't perfect, but I hope that you enjoy it anyhow.

Finally, some scrapping is happening!

I just couldn't wait to share. I just got my first layout completed since the birth of Blake. He now officially has the beginning of his very own scrapbook. These are the pictures we took just before leaving the hospital. Even then he looked pretty yellow!

Liquid Glass + Prisma Glitter = Mock Stickles

We all love glitter, but it can make such a mess (just ask my oldest who spilled an entire jar on my floor). So, I have tried a couple of ways to keep it better contained with moderate success. While I was chatting with a friend, it hit me...I need to try adding glitter to a partially used bottle of CTMH Liquid Glass. Guess what, it worked perfectly! (I used it on the center of the flowers)

Always room to try something new...

Blake loves to be held and refuses for me to lay him down without screaming. So that means no scrapbooking for me, at least until today. I decided to give digital scrapbooking a try and had a blast. I even pulled out Cherish (by Close To My Heart's Jeanette Lynton) and used it to create my layout. It'll never replace my hands on scrapbooking but it was so easy and I can't wait to have it printed out.

Journaling Reads: Conner, With the arrival of baby Blake, you became a big brother and your life as you knew it changed forever! You now have to share the attention of your Mommy and Daddy and most likely all of your toys in the future. You have taken this major change in stride and we are so very proud of you. Blake is one lucky little boy to have you as a big brother and we are even luckier to have you as our son. It is our hope that as you grow that you will always remember how very special you arête each and every one of us. Your happy go lucky personality brings us great joy! Love Always, Mommy & Daddy

Something a little different...

Shortly after my craft fair this year, I thought I'd try out an idea. Stamped baby onsies using our CTMH stamps. There is definately a learning curve and I am going to keep playing with all of my old onsies until I get it just right. We have such a selection of adorable stamps and I just know that these have a potential to be a big hit.
